How this site handles legal content
This page explains the rules we hold ourselves to. If you find content that breaks them, please report it on the corrections page.
Primary sources only
Legal claims about the DPDP framework rely on original official material: the Gazette of India, India Code and MeitY documents. Claims about the GDPR rely on the official EUR Lex text. Commentary from law firms, news sites or blogs can suggest which questions matter, but it is never the authority for a legal claim on this site.
Four kinds of statement, visibly different
Everything legal on this site is labelled as one of four things: an official requirement (quoted law, shown verbatim), a plain English explanation (our restatement of what the law says), an interpretation (a judgment call where the law is not settled, always flagged as such), or a practical recommendation (advice that goes beyond the law). Interpretation is never dressed up as quoted law.
Citations you can check
A material legal claim carries the document name, the exact section or rule, the version and publication date, the commencement status where it matters, a link to the official file, the page number where the source is a fixed document, and the date we last verified it. Where a corrigendum changes the text, we show the corrected wording and say so.
Deterministic tools, no AI answers
The tools on this site do not use artificial intelligence and do not generate legal advice. They evaluate your answers against a published rulebook. Every result shows which rules ran, which of your facts they used, and which official sources they rest on. The same answers always produce the same result. When your answers do not support a conclusion, the tools say so instead of guessing, and no result is ever a percentage or a score.
Your data stays in your browser
Tool answers are stored only on your device so you can resume later. They are not sent to a server, and there is a clear control to erase them. There is no account system and no login.

Dated verification, honest limits
Anything described as latest or current carries the date we last verified it, because the law can change after that date. This site provides legal information, not legal advice; significant decisions deserve advice from a qualified professional who knows your facts.
